Here’s a versatile mix that is chock full of benefits to your skin. It’s a dry mixture including bentonite and kaolin clays and ground lavender buds, with lavender essential oil for fragrance.
The clay exfoliates and draws toxins from the skin. The lavender buds add extra exfoliation which gets gentler and gentler as you massage it in–so you’ll never over-scrub and damage your skin!
You can use this in two different ways:
As a Facial Scrub: Gentle enough to use daily! Tip a tablespoon or so into your palm, and add water to make a loose paste. Massage into your skin for as long as you like. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
As a Facial Mask: You can do this by adding water or oil. Tip a couple tablespoons into a small bowl. If you want a traditional-type mask, mix equal parts of water and facial mix, and let it sit for about 10 minutes or so, to let the clay absorb the water and make “mud”. I sometimes like to add a little olive or almond oil to make a loose, spreadable mixture that still exfoliates, but it’s good either way! Apply liberally and massage into your skin. Leave on for as much as 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm water. You can either massage any residual oil into your skin afterwards, or wash with any natural soap if you prefer.
Enjoy your face! And don’t forget your neck! It might feel neglected! 😉
